Frances Kidder holds a B.A. in Art History from Vassar College and an MAT from U.Mass. She has done additional art study at the Vermont Studio Centre and the Boston Museum School. She divides her time between Williamsburg, MA and South Bristol, ME and has made and taught art for 30 years.

Besides landscape she has often painted human and animal figures; but her primary interest is in creating light and space through color.

Her work is represented by The Oxbow Gallery in Northampton, MA, as well as Gallery 170 in Nobleboro, ME.
